One possibility might be to wrap a PIC around a self-refresh DRAM - these have a pretty low current consumption in self-refresh mode, and the PIC could be used to provide the self-refresh pulses and a convenient interface. NEC offer a 'silicon file memory' that's even lower power (though perhaps not lower power per bit than 16Mbit self-refresh) but it dosen't seem to be easily available above 1Mbit. -adrian
