Paul:

 Parallax has an example in there application notes. They are accessing a
1meg * 1 DRAM but you should be able to use their refresh routines for the
256K chip. Here is there BBS number ( 916-624-7101). File name dram.src.
 It is in Parallax assembly though.

 I have an application that I need storage on luckily my client has deep pockets
and only one or two devices will be built. Or I would have to go with DRAM
instead of SRAM!
