After accepting an update to or completeing a new installation of System 21 version 2.09.04 you may find that your Registration Key Packet Electronic Forms will not print correctly. They will pull from the wrong tray, and will not print the Hilton logo and other graphical elements of your normal form. Statements may also be affected. The receipts, folios, and zip out Electronic Forms should not be affected.
Correcting this problem is easy... just use the pre-printed "emergency" reg/folio paper supplied with your order and when time allows, follow the steps below and you should find that normal operation of your key packet printing will resume.

Check to make sure that you really are using System 21 version 02.09.04. From the System 21 front desk program Help menu, select About System 21... and look in the lower left area for the "Application Version." If you have a different version of System 21 do not use this document.
1. Request the modified .rpt file for the type of e-form you use by clicking here
2. These files need to get into the Reports folder on the Server under Network
Neighborhood.
3. Select Network Neighborhood from the Save in pulldown list. You will see the machines on your network in the main area of the Save As dialog.
4. Double click on the machine named with your property Inncode followed by "Server". A list of folders should appear;
5. Double click on the Report folder. Many files should be displayed.
6. Look at the filename at the bottom of the dialog box just to the right of the text File name: Find that same name in the long list of files in the large area in the middle of the dialog box.
7. Click three times very slowly on the file in the center area (not
on the filename after the words File name:). You can now rename
the file by adding ".SAV" to the end of the file name and pressing the Enter
key. This will make a backup of the file just in case... If you get an error
message saying that the file already exists, you or someone else has already
made a backup of the file and you don't need to worry, just clear the error
message and go on.
8. Verify that the File name at the bottom of the dialog is still the same and press Save. If you see a dialog saying that the download is complete, you can close it.
9. Click on Start / Programs / System 21 / Database Maintenance
10. Select Hotel Defaults
11. Select Receipt Printing
12. Make sure that the box that says "Print pre-reg and check out forms using VB" is unchecked.
Note: If this box was checked, you will need to close and re-start System 21 on each workstation. Some properties have experienced very slow printing of Conformation Letters when this box is not checked and have been told by Hilton support to check the box in order to speed that up. Unfortunately, checking this box disables electronic forms. You may need to switch this back and forth depending on what you need to get done at the moment.
